Local Ministry
Christmas and Thanksgiving Baskets - We delivered care boxes to many local families. Many of the baskets included gas cards and Christmas gifts for children who would have otherwise gone without this Christmas.
Our food closet remains open to whoever has a need. We have operated the food closet for over 20 years.
We intended our next big emphasis to be a shipment to Appalachia but we were unable to find a church that would accept very gently used clothing and hand crocheted idems to distribute. We will be sending these items to Afghanistan. Our homeless ministry was very succesfull in 2011. We distributed more than 100 sleeping bags, personal hygiene bags, as well as hundreds of sandwiches, oranges, water, and gospel tracks.
Operation Afghan/Iraq
We will be sending another shipment of supplies to our soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq and to the Afghan villages - WINTER GEAR is urgently needed so if you have a heavy coat in a New Orleans closet - we have a better use for it!!! Click for suggested items:
